THE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. A sheet of parchment paper, waxed paper, or foil should be laid out on the surface.
  2. After chopping the chocolate into small pieces, place it in a measuring cup or a glass bowl that is safe for use in the microwave.
  3. After sixty seconds in the microwave, whisk the mixture. To ensure that the chocolate is completely melted, microwave it for an additional thirty seconds and then stir it once more. If the lumps are still present, microwave the mixture for a further brief burst and whisk it once more.
  4. The chocolate should be dropped onto the parchment paper in the shape of little circles using a spoon. In the event that the chocolate is allowed to fall off the spoon, it will naturally take on a shape that is more or less circular. If you want to, you can give it a little nudge with your spoon. When you are working with each round of chocolate, sprinkle it with a variety of your nutritious add-ins while the chocolate is still hot. Work with each round of chocolate simultaneously. You may make these in any size you desire, but mine were somewhere between two and two and a half inches in diameter.
  5. If you want to speed up the process, you can either let the chocolate set at room temperature or you may put the bites in the refrigerator. It is helpful to place the parchment directly on a baking sheet or tray if you intend to store the medallions in the refrigerator. This will allow you to transfer the paper directly to the refrigerator.
  6. Either at ambient temperature or in the refrigerator, the mendiants should be stored. They will withstand for a minimum of three weeks. It is also possible to freeze them.
