– 1 1/2 cups cold heavy cream– 1/2 cup cold milk– 1/2 cup sugar, I used superfine baking sugar, but you don’t have to– 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, about 4 or 5 lemon– 1 tsp lemon extract– 2 or 3 drops yellow food coloring, optional

The cream, milk, and sugar should all be mixed together and stirred until the sugar is gone.

If you're going to use food colouring, add it now.
Both the mixture and the lemon juice should be cold.

Add the lemon juice and extract to the ice cream maker just before you add the cream.

Put it in the machine and follow the directions for how to use it. It takes about 20 minutes on the most basic Cuisinart machine.

You can eat it soft from the machine, or you can freeze it longer to make it harder.
