INSTRUCTION

Mix flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a medium bowl. Reserve the bowl.

1

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar at medium speed in a large basin with a stand mixer or electric hand mixer until light and fluffy.

2

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Add eggs and vanilla and beat slowly until mixed. Slowly add the flour mixture and beat until mixed on low. Beat M&Ms low.

3

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

To make the all-purpose flour version, roll 1 1/2″ balls (65 grammes) and push any M&Ms that protrude back in. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes until stiff enough to form into balls.

4

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Place dough balls on a prepared baking sheet and freeze until solid, 2 hours.

5

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

No freezing is needed for gluten-free versions. Wrap the dough in plastic and chill for two hours. Roll into balls. Preheat the oven to 350°F for all-purpose flour or 375°F for gluten-free flour.

6

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Use parchment paper to line a baking sheet. Spread dough balls 4″ apart on the prepared baking sheet. Bake the cookies until gently and uniformly browned, 16-20 minutes.

7

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

If batch baking, freeze or refrigerate unused dough. If desired, immediately top each biscuit with extra M&Ms after baking.

8

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

After 5 minutes on the baking sheet, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to finish cooling.  Save in an airtight jar for 4 days.
